Injuries and set backs

I asked my physiotherapist the other day, “what is the difference between pain an discomfort?” As I reflect on this conversation I think about the inevitability of injury in our sport. It’s easy to let injuries get you down. Especially if you were in a great space with training when it happened. Coaches and other athletes offered me many ideas about how to manage my injury and how to train around it. While I’m getting back on track again, it’s difficult to let go of where I was at and accept where I am now.

Luckily, having so many wonderful people around me, my tribe, has made sure I at least stayed the course and that I find my way back to the starting line.
